Cannabis ruderalis

I have been very interested in Cannabis ruderalis since I first read about the strain. Prior, I only thought there were two strains of cannabis- C. sativa and C. indica.

Cannabis ruderalis is the only strain known to be native of North America (by way of Russia), where it still grows wild (mostly in the US Midwest).

Cannabis ruderalis does not grow very tall and is extremely hardy ( but has low THC content.

Most interesting, Cannabis ruderalis is "autoflowring"- meaning it produces flowers (or buds) based on age and not changes in light cycle. This means it produces flowers in a much shorter time than C. sativa or C. indica. Various articles I've read report it flowers between 1 and 2 months!

Because of this growers have begun interbreeding Cannabis ruderalis with the other strains to take on its characteristics of hardiness and extremely fast flowering. Most notable is DJ Short's "Blueberry" strain.

For more info Google "Cannabis ruderalis" or see its Wikipedia page:
